Jasper, neutered male
Jasper is a special boy. He may be raccoon in species but not mind. Jasper is a 5-generation pet raised raccoon. When Jasper come, he had some behavior issues due to still being an intact boar. After neuter (well about 4 months after) his demeanor changed completely. While he has always loved children, Jasper became an all-around sweetheart! Jasper has become a rescue favorite due to his silliness and love to make the public laugh and smile. If you're willing to spend the time, he's willing to either sit and listen, hold your hand or show his back for scratches or even a quick massage. but you'll never leave his area the same, he'll keep your heart guaranteed.
Gus
Gus may be a stallion, but you never know it, specially when children are around. He adores spending time with the little ones and get all the treats and loving's.
Hank
Hank is a, now, retired ranch horse that Mark took in at the age 4 when no one else wanted him. After working for many years of working heavy cattle and colts we figured it was time for retirement from heavy duty work. He now thrives on spending time with our volunteers' giving hugs and go for short easy rides as he enjoys his retirement years,
Jimmy
Jimmy was rescued in July of 2016 from a farm that abused him for many years. Jimmy was scheduled to be put down for acting like a "Jack" (which of course, he is). After being here for many, many years, Jimmy is still fearful to be touched on his face and is easily frightened by quick movements, but he adores people, children especially, and laughter. Make sure he's the first you greet when you come or let the silliness begin! And if remember your PB&J sandwich, you may just get a dance!
Dove
Dove is a mustang mare that came in from another rescue. Dove will be a permanent resident here at the rescue. Her past is unknown but her distrust of human runs deep. However, our hopes for her runs just as deep. every day she shows promise and her willingness to hang with our volunteers and accept as many cookies as you're willing to give.
Goofy
Goofy come in the summer 2019. Goofy was actually purchased to keep him from shipping to slaughter. If you look the rear of his backbone just before his hips you notice his "hunter bumps". Goofy was used very heavy for over 3 years packing hunters into the mountains, working cattle and colts without the benefit of the proper chiropractic care. This caused a severe calcium build up between his vertebras. After constant chiropractic care and a few years of very light duty, he's now fit as a fiddle!
Player
Player come to us fall of 2021 as a two times starvation/repo case. His wonderful owner was at a loss on how to best help bring him back this time. So she brought him to us. He may have been starved in his past but that doesn't diminish his love of human pampering. He is one of many here that could stand all day, if you're willing to pet or brush. And please don't let him talk you into scratching the belly, he'll never let you leave, even when your arms turn to jelly.
Frosty, Jenny Burro
Frosty is a BLM burro out of Arizona that won our hearts with her kind and loving personality. Due to her tiny size and slim build, Frosty will be staying here at the rescue and learning to be a cart burro and continuing to make everyone smile with her huge ears and silly faces!
Sissy, Jenny Burro
Sissy was the youngest of the BLM burros that come in out of Arizona. Sissy became absolutely sweet and kind with gentling. She has taken to training like a champ! Sissy is the biggest and stockiest of the burros that come in and has mastered being a pack burro that loves trail and has done great under saddle as well.
Red, Jenny Burro
Red was our oldest of the BLM burros that come in out of Arizona. For the very start Red watched and learned. She has the most laid-back personality, and as long as you let her know what you want, she up for it, as long as it ends in loves and good girls. Red has been ridden but do to her thin frame, only bareback will do for us. Reds only problem is sharing her human, if the other burros come up, she just goes and poutes. Shes a love for sure!
Sophie
Sophie is a mini mule that Mark purchased as a companion animal for his stud Gus. When he went to visit Gus, he became aware of Sophies' status as unwanted and knocked around, nuisance (as the prior owner stated). So, Sophie came home with him as well. Although she has proven to be a handful 95% of the time, the other 5% just wants love and attention. Sophie favorite thing is BABIES, any species of BABIES!! Sophie will, like many, continue to live here for the rest of her days.
Arabella, aka Bella
Bella come because her current job had expired as a companion to an aging barrel horse. And she couldn't have been more welcome! Like most little ponies our Bella is very opinionated, but also knows exactly how to get the best scratches! Bella is a part of our "20+ Group" and boy does she enjoy the "extras" that come with! But it turned out Bella had another role to play, our Dolly come in with a serious urge to be a momma, well Bella cured that! She allows Dolly to dote on her and in return, she gets first pick of the best hay!
Ravenwood Eclipse
Eclipse had been a very successful adoption many years ago. However, as it normally happens, his new "little" girl grew up. With his age climbing (20+) she didn't feel selling him was his best option, so she called us! I was more than happy to offer my "boy" a retirement home! However, being 3/4 Arabian, he could have many, many years ahead of him, and that's OK with me!
Dolly
Dolly actually come in from another rescue that wasn't equipped to handle draft horses. It turned out Dolly is an over 20-year-old Amish plow horse sent to auction in Virginia. Her body has known years and years of hard labor, and it (her body) shows (but NOT her heart). Dolly has a lot of arthritis in her rear legs but as long as she continues to respond well to her pain management routine, she will continue to get the love and pampering she so richly deserves. All thanks to her amazing and WONDERFUL sponsor!
Bandit, Female
Bandit come to live with us when she became just too much for her human daddy's living arrangements. I call her my one-eyed bandit. Bandit has an amazing, sweet disposition, like our Jasper. Unfortunately, like Jasper, Bandit will never be a candidate for release, even soft release do to her only having the one eye, which affects her peripheral vision. We have also noticed a lack of muscle build, no how much we encourage exercise. but of course, only time will tell us more.
Pepper
Pepper come in with her 6 brothers after momma had been trapped under a driveway. After we got Momma, all settled in an enclosure, we started to introduce her babies back to her a few at a time. Unfortunately, she refused to take them all back. I think she knew 7 was just too many to care for. We adopted out a few boys, but Pepper was just to tiny, literally half the size of her brothers. We accepted Pepper just like we would any baby, she just wasn't healthy enough to adopt out. Now? She our little sassy girl, with us forever and a day
Our Piggies
Our Piggy's all come from different situations. But we love them all the same!
Our Goats
Our Goats bring so much joy, to us and our visitors. The silliness just never stops!
